red wine
Pinot Noir is a safe bet. It is a red wine – but also goes well with poultry. MacMurray Ranch ( about $15 a bottle) is a good choice.
When I need a bottle of wine as a gift, I always ask someone working in the wine section for help. World Market has great wines in a variety of price ranges. A good wine does not have to be expensive. World Market also has knowledgeable staff. If you don’t have one in your area, try a specialty grocery store.
I would go with either a Shiraz/ Syrah or Pinot Noir. For us blue-collar folk, those are easy-drinking red wines that either an amateur or experienced wine drinker could enjoy. Australian wines are especially popular these days. Or, you could opt for a sparkling wine (champagne).
Your best bet is to decide on a price range, then ask for guidance at a liquor store that features wine. Don’t be intimidated by a wine snob, or let them convince you to spend more than you are comfortable with. You can get a perfectly lovely bottle of wine for under $20.
Most importantly, real wine-drinkers know that the most important thing is enjoyment. Enjoying the taste of the wine, and the company it brings. Anyone who turns up their nose at a label without even tasting it is missing the point.
Get a dry white wine or an apertif-it opens your stomach so you can stuff more in! lol
Happy Thanksgiving!
red wine definately……Do you have an H.E.B OR Central market near you? If so then you should try their. There is a huge selection of great wines with a wine expert to answer all your questions
I prefer red wine. I like Cabernet Sovignon: Mondavi. There’s also J Seven Oaks and Yellow Tail also.
