How many of you were truly disappointed by any christmas gifts you got?

gifts
shadowmon31 asked:

Reason why I ask, is that I haven’t received a gift that I truly wanted in some time.

i didn’t get anything super special this year but also i didn’t ask for anything super special… just like that

My brother’s face was a picture when I opened the Digital Monopoly he so desperately wanted. Although we will share it it was good just to see his face when the label on the package said my name and not his!

-MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR

I hear you neither have I…. I mean I know it’s not about the gifts but I mean sometimes it would be better if people always gave gift cards… because clothes end up never fitting or people don’t like them and yeah… but happy hoildays! Maybe we will both have better luck next year! =]

sorry you feel that way but i hope you are thankful that you go anything at all..some people don’t get anything =[

It isn’t about the gifts, it is about the giving you selfish selfish little boy/girl. =)

Really though I received books. That was really all I wanted so I am happy. =)

My parents bought me a FAB new Nokia 5300, so I’m happy with that.

I’m a bit of an emo, and addicted to Punky Fish clothing, so my aunt said she’d buy me some. Really excited, I opened the bag, and got my mum to help me try on the clothes… but OH NO. None of them fitted. And now, I feel really bad, telling her they are too small!

Not me! Each gift, big, small, good or bad, it was given by some one from the heart!

It’s almost 2:00pm and I haven’t opened my gifts yet because my family will crowd around me when I do and I don’t know how to react when I know I’m going to get something I don’t want.
I know just how you feel.

    I never get anything good.

  • Strawberry fields forever

i know, me neither. this year i got what i wanted, but it really didnt satisfy me because i had to be straight forward about it…so no surprises

  • Grey days

Didn’t get any, so no cause for disappointment – out of choice of course! Far cheaper and far kinder to relations who don’t even know you, let alone what you would like for Christmas – buy it yourself I say!

Oh well im really sorry for that. I’m not disapointed with my gifts. My family doesn’t really celebrate Christmas cause it isn’t in our religion to celebrate it. But now that im older when my dad and i go to Wal-Mart he usually gets me what i want so i can pick and choose. At the moment my mom and sister is in London and they got me many presents and from what i saw on the webcam today i love it. And that wasn’t all the presents. Lol Well Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!
Here’s a star just because you don’t seem to happy and this is the best i can do to make you feel better. Probably wont help but it’s the least i can do.

Me. I ask for a cheap drum kit (£130), and my parents get me an electric desk drum kit (£30).

I ask for a logitech g7 gaming mouse, my parents get me thin air (free).

I ask for guitar hero 3 for wii (£70). I get more air (again free)

The rest is cloths from primark. THen get this. My parents buy my sister a phone from ebay. teh w810i (£50), she said she didnt want that brand of phone. so my parents got the brand she wanted (w8880i:£110) From ebay, it hasnt arrived yet, So yesterday my parents went out and bought a brand new w8880i from a t-mobil shop (£150!). My sister hapily unwraps her W880i and laugs at me as i get complete S H I T!

I ahve officialy given up on christmas as of this year. hopefully when i turn 16 i can get a job and buy what i want without having to rely on christmas to be let down. If you ahve parents that favour a brother or sister then you are guarneteed not to get what you want. I advise you to give up Christmas as it is the biggest peice of **** ever.

Sincerely, A Kid whos pissed of with his parents

  • dpepperdrinker

I used to have that problem. You need to tell the people that give you gifts to give you gift cards.

  • Lady M

I just wish i got more clothes but remember that your blessed to be getting presents at all…

  • luvbuz01

I was. It just seems I get crap and my sisters get really cool stuff. Then I feel bad ’cause that’s not what Christmas is for. But it is disappointing to see my sisters spend more money on each other than they do me. Especially when neither one of them are any better off than me financelly. It’s like they want me to feel excluded… Oh, well. It only comes one time a year, right.

I loved every gift that I received.I am thrilled that someone would think of me enough to get me something regardless of what it is and I didn’t get expect anyone to buy me anything ,but I appreciate everything:)

  • Grabey

I loved all my gifts, if i get something don’t like just act like you do, you will probably like it through time! Hopefully! Happy Christmas and New Year everyone!!

  • Cindy

I’m fine, happy with my presents.
    Presents are presents.
Happy family get together, great presents and great food too.
    Really jolly merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas Happy New Year to all!

I know exactly how you feel. My 18 year old son spent about £150 on his girlfriend (some of which was funded by me) and about a tenner on my present. I was hurt to say the least.
However this has made me think how much better it would be if we only gave small presents or none at all then give money to charity – this is actually what a friend and me have done this year and I’m going to try and make it more widespread next year.
Some answers have said Christmas is not about presents. I agree but then again in 2008 what is Christmas about?
Do other religions have special days when they give gifts to loved ones or is it just Christians?

  • leakthomas

  • ivy
