you can use it whenever you want…. it goes bad when the money runs out
To my knowledge, your iTunes balance doesn’t expire. I’ve had around $15.00 in my iTunes balance for at least a year and have not heard anything about having to use it before it expires.
it never expires once you have redeemed it into your account.you can take as long as you like to spend it
