You have to give gifts now? A well written thank you would do I think. Personally I think the whole written thank you thing is out of control, I would much rather receive a verbal thank you anyway. The proper thing to do is write a thank you.

After my shower, I sent my sister a big bouquet of flowers with a thank-you note. 1800 flowers has some very cute arrangements.

Does she have children of her own? Is so what about a mommy scrapbook/ book. If no, another scrapbook of you and your friend showing your appreciation. Im sure she will be greatful either way.

A basket of fruit and fresh veggies and through in a bunch of flowers-fall type colors with a nice thank you note. Or, instead of a basket, cut out a pumpkin and place the flowers in the pumpkin.
