Get her zip code, and make sure there are stores nearby using the store finder feature on websites.

In order of preference (based on where my friends have registered:
    1. Bed Bath Beyond
    2. Target
    3. Linens n Things (going out of business)
    4 Macy*s

I think a gift card is the perfect idea, especially since you would incur a hefty bill for shipping costs. Pick a store like Target or Bed Bath abd Beyond because everyone can use money for places like that. The price range you suggested is perfect. I typically give a gift with a value of at least $100 (from both me and my fiance), and it goes upward depending on how close I am to the couple.

I am getting married soon also and if I received a gift card I would want it from Bed Bath and Beyond (or any kind of store like that). They have a good variety and you can get almost everything there.
You could always just send the money too.

A gift card should be from a place that suits their lifestyle. Are they young and in a moderate income level. Sears or Macy’s or Target is fine!! If they are executive-level and already in their own home or condo, a certificate to Nordstrom’s or Saks 5th Avenue might be better. You can order gift cards on-line and they will deliver to the recipients in LA. $125 at Nordstroms will get them a gorgeous vase, candlesticks, elegant blanket, same with Saks.

You could do the gift card, but I would be paranoid that it would get lost in the mail.

I usually do a really nice photo album or photo frame. You could do a wedding theme or if you know them pretty well a style they like.

I have made a travel journal before for someone’s honeymoon so they can write down all their adventures while on the trip. It has pockets for pictures and lined paper. Doesn’t have to be fancy, just any way you think they would like. You can put on there Open Me Now and write a personal message like congrats on your new adventure together, this should get you started…something like that…just a thought.

    Hope this helps!

Target and Bed Bath Beyond are good. Since you’re in Canada you can probably get them online.

A few of my favorite gifts I received were blankets and bedding. It’s fun to start off with new things like that when you get married, plus you use and see them everyday. Target has really cute and nice bedding sets and really nice warm blankets.

    Hope I could help!

Get her a visa/mastercard gift card. It can be used anywhere that accepts the credit card. They can use it on their honeymoon or on something for their home.

go online and find out of stores in your area have locations near them, that’s the easiest way. or if it’s a store chain that isn’t located near you, chances are you can go online to a store’s website in LA and buy the gift card and have them send it directly to the bride.

Gift cards are great, and always welcome. Like everyone else has mentioned, Target, Bed Bath Beyond, etc. are good picks. My husband and I also got ones for Home Depot, Lowe’s and Safeway/Vons. All were great!

Have you considered a club membership, like Wine of the Month? They have them for cheese, olive oils, gourmet foods, beers, etc. And most offer different subscription plans, so you wouldn’t have to commit to a long, expensive deal. Just a thought! Personally, I would love receiving a gourmet cheese shipment every 3 or 4 months for a year. I would remember it more than a gift card.

Well, you could just get a VISA or MASTER CARD gift card, and then they can use the money where they need it.

this is what we do for our out-of-country gift requirements.
we find a nursery or florist close by and order a shrub or small tree. ie rose bush, lilac tree, japanese cherry tree, rhododendrons, that type of thing.
failing that how about a gift card to home depot? every neighbourhood seems to have one of those!
