What is a traditional thai/thailand gift for a moving in occasion/new home?

gift
Hazel S asked:

My brother and his wife have a new house and I wish to buy them a gift which is lucky/buddhist/ or of thai tradition?
Any ideas?

It is traditional to present an elephant in Thailand as a gift to those you meet. Generally an ornament style one.

    Hope this helps

First of all you need not forget the card. Normally, you can give them anything as gift. But you have to be aware of colors that Thai people think is inappropriate because they are the sign of sadness or being apart such as black, purple, gray. If you do not have an idea indeed, try a basket of rare fruits, wine representing your sincere.

Money is the traditional Thai gift for all occasions. Don’t bother with your Western sensibilities. Just stick 1000 Baht in an envelope. It will be appreciated and you will have a friend for life, albeit a leechy one.
