Nothing better than a homemade gift for Christmas.

Chocolate covered pretzels is always a good choice. Nice and simple too, but how about a Truffle? Or Fudge?

CHOCOLATE TRUFFLES
3 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
1-14 ounce can EAGLE BRAND sweetened condensed milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

coatings:
finely chopped toasted nuts, flaked coconut, chocolate sprinkles, colored sprinkles, unsweetened cocoa powder, confectioners sugar, or colored sugars.

In large saucepan, over low heat, melt chocolate chips with EAGLE BRAND. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla.

Pour into medium bowl. Cover and chill 2 to 3 hours or until firm.

Shape into 1 inch balls. Roll into desired coating and chill for 1 hour until firm.

These look beautiful in the gold and silver mini muffin liners. You can give thise on a pretty tray, holiday plate or in a holiday container.

**Store in the refrigerator covered.

FUDGE
3 cups semi sweet chocolate chips (or milk chocolate chips)
1 14 ounce can EAGLE BRAND sweetened condensed milk
dash salt
1/2 to 1 cup chopped nuts (Optional)
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

In a heavy sauce pan over low heat, melt chocolate chips with EAGLE BRAND and salt. Remove from heat, stir in nuts and vanilla. Spread evenly into was paper lned 8 or 9 inch square pan.

Chill for 2 hours or until firm. Turn fudge onto cutting board, peel off paper and cut into squares. Store in the refrigerator.

These would be great also on that holiday plate or in a holiday container.

You can make chocolate covered pretzels. You need 1 bag of your favorite chocolate chips, and a bag of salted pretzels. First, melt the chips in a sauce pan or fondue pot, then dip the pretzels in the chocolate. Set the chocolate covered pretzels on wax paper, and wait for them to cool. If you don't want to use pretzels, you can use apples, marshmallows, or pieces of angel food cake.

There is this see though plastic paper stuff that comes in rolls like wrapping paper, I found it in the craft dept. They come with christmas decorations on them. You can wrap the goods with that, with ribbon of course, and put small bells on the ends of the ribbons.

Get creative. Coat pretzels, any kind of cookies, a favorite cereal, most anything. There is a chocolate you can purchase that is just for this. Wrap your goodies in plastic wrap and tie with ribbon.

Buy some really nice Christmas containers. For co-workers or people that you don't want to buy special containers for just put the candies on a red or green plastic plate and put a Christmas Zip-Loc Bag around it. (Make sure the plate will fit inside the bag!). Put a bow and a gift tag on the Zip-Loc bag and it's good to go.
