I need 25th wedding anniversary gift ideas?

MOPR 4ME asked:

My parents will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary in roughly 2 weeks and I need to get them a gift. My aunt has offered to help me with purchasing something, as I am unable to get out and get it myself. I really have no idea what to get them. I’d like to get something that’s more for my dad, since he’s gotten my mom a very nice ring.

Do you have any ideas? Perhaps something to decorate the house with…

you’re a good kid. my 25th passed last october without mention from anyone. including my husband and kids.
the silver stuff is nice but really, it just gets put in a box and packed away. is there something they’ve always wanted for the house? a place they’ve always wanted to go? a restaurant they’ve always wanted to try? listen to them when they talk. you’ll get some clues from that.
tell them happy anniversary for me

How about a gift certificate to have their picture taken together, and then a lovely silver frame for the picture. I wish someone would have done that on our 25th anniversary.

How about buying them a couple of watches personalised with the year they both met or got married?

Have you thought about a Photo Collage Jigsaw Puzzle? 25 years of marriage is filled with lots of milestone events and memories so a personalized gift such a Photo Collage Puzzle is a great way to bring together and honor those memories.

Send the guys at a collection of your parents photos from their wedding day up until today. 15-25 photos usually works best. You can also specify the words to a favorite song, poem or other words which will stand have meaning to them. Let the professional designers at jigsaw2order.com create a unique photo collage layout for your approval before making it into a puzzle. Don’t worry, you get a chance to review and approve the photo collage design before they make a puzzle. Once completed, it can be framed and put on the wall as a keepsake of the anniversary.

A photo collage puzzle is truly a unique way to celebrate 25 years of marriage.

To a point I agree with a Photo Collage, I don’t know if you want to do a puzzle but the general reaction to taking the time to pick out photographs of each parent and getting them done as a collage is really well received.

Obviously your parents have had you so might want to consider adding in photographs of the following parts of their life and having the best wedding photograph of just them in the center:
*Photographs from about when they first met
*The first photos of them together
*A couple photos leading up to the wedding
    *The wedding (Most important)
*Maybe a couple of them adjusting afterward (as in moving)
*Your birth or a family picture of all the kids (I have no idea how many siblings you have)

From what I’ve seen it should be rather inexpensive to get a custom collage done, framing might be more expensive but if you get it printed at a standard frame size you can normally find a good quality frame at a second hand store like Goodwill.

If the place you go to charges by the image in the collage you might want to consider just dropping some photographs, the nice thing about digital photograph technicians is they don’t damage your original images and can give you the collage in a digital format so you can seek printing elsewhere if their in house service is too much.

While you can find people willing to do photo collages on Craigslist, I’d go with a professional company, as there is a little more reliability there. One of those I just pulled up is FixYourPhoto.com, they have a nice little gallery of ideas for wedding collages that you might want to browse through. (http://fixyourphoto.com/gallery_collage)

There is a large selection of restaurants that they could go out and unwind and have adate!! You could orchestrate this with a gift card from one of their favorite restaurants or one they have never been to. Here is a link to get your creative juices flowing. Bennigans is nice.
If that isn’t doing it for you, perhaps a hotel room for the night or weekend would be something they would enjoy. :)
