Big Bad Wolf asked:
I live in India and would like send a little birthday gift to a good friend living in AZ, USA.
She is turning 30 and is happily married.
Please help me with your suggestions about what i can send and what I should not.
1. I don’t want to send anything inappropriate
2.Don’t say ‘Elephant’, cause i have size and logistics constraints.
3.Don’t mean to sound cheap, but like they say..its the thought that counts..I don’t have a very big budget to work with

Inexpensive handmade jewelry…India has gorgeous jewelry that would cost triple the price over here.
A piece of jewelry – a style of earring she would enjoy or one of those bracelet/ring connected by clains (quite exotic, in my book). If this is too rich, what about a book about India that’s been translated into English – or if she has children, the older books about the mongoose, etc., by Kipling.
I soooooo want some of that brightly coloured powder they throw for the Holy Festival !!!!
That would be the best gift for me
I would get a length if material Silk or good quality cotton or some jewelry.
You can send the powder to me if you like
I would be happy to pay for it !!!!!!!
Banasi Sarhi
A pillow or shirt made of the beautiful fabrics I see in pictures of India, such as from Rajasthan.
A piece of Indian jewelry if it fits your budget.
Spices are inexpensive, small and light to ship, and very useful and delicious. Send her a selection of Indian spices and a few of your favorite recipes that use them.
Photographs of yourself and places around you, so she can picture your life.
